On days when I don’t know what to wear, I automatically reach for a jumper dress. This burgundy jumper dress from .Object with the fun frills on the cuffs is my current favourite. I’ve paired it with comfy but stylish wedge heel knee boots from M&S.
What makes the outfit stand out, however, is the way the Sunset Waters silk scarf can be styled with it in several different ways. This would be a great combination to wear to a winter wedding (or dare I say it so soon – a Valentine’s day date) yet it’s also appropriate to wear to work.
I made this one-of-a-kind pure silk scarf in a traditional Japanese tie-dye technique called Shibori. You’ll love this scarf because it’s a versatile pattern that can be combined with many different outfits. It’s available to purchase at aratidevasher.co.uk.

- Wear the scarf as a stole, simply draped around your neck. You could also lower it to hang over your elbows it you’re at a party.
- A single knot can be an effective way to showcase the pattern of the scarf without compromising on style.
- This classic drape is a timeless and elegant way to wear a long scarf like this one. Double around your neck, and let both ends drape in front.
- Loop the scarf once around your neck with with one ends hanging down your front, the other down your back – this creates an great view no matter which angle you’re being seen from.
- Knot the ends of the silk scarf and wear it like a large snood.
- Find interesting ways to tie the scarf around your neck, creating a jabot or cravat-like effect. Experiment with this and you’ll find endless variations.
- Cinch in your waist with a tan belt and create an interesting silhouette.
- The soft crepe silk is easy to tie and does not slip when worn. Don’t hesitate to experiment and add accessories like scarf clips or rings to style it in any season.
Do comment and let me know if you try any of these styles. I’d love to hear from you.
P.S. You might notice I’m wearing black tights in the photographs… that’s because I’m always cold. There is also a hidden thermal top under that elegant jumper dress, and the silk scarf adds warmth when worn close around the neck!
