As all of instagram does at the end of each year, I too checked my ‘best nine of 2018’, which means the top liked posts; the most favoured image was this one:
I’d featured it in the 7 Ways to Wear a Silk Scarf with a Jumper Dress post a while ago, and it’s apparently retained it’s popularity since! I’m so glad it has, because it’s one of my favourites. The frill on the sleeve perfectly frames the scarf cupped in my hands, and the knitted texture contrasts well with the smooth silk.
The image also reminded me of how I felt at the time, stressed out, needing to do everything all the time for my one-woman business, and not very ‘zen’. So, 2019 is going to be all about doing as much as I can without working late, on weekends and having it impinge on family time. #SelfCare is also doing the rounds on social media, and I think it’s the most important thing in life. Alongside caring for my body with its chronic health issues, I need to remember to take care of my mind and soul as well. It is my one and only resolution for the year, but covers a great many things within it. No-one could keep so many individual promises to oneself, so I’ll just stick with:
I will take care of my body, mind and soul, aiming for happiness in general, and being a little more spontaneous.
